Melbourne

Melbourne…at last. Amazing city, a bit different from Sydney but im still lovin it. In my opinion Melbourne is a place where culture and sub culture groups are more in the spotlight. People here like to represent them selves in artistic ways. The art on the street is amazing, you have everything from the modern posh stuff to the real gritty (but good) graffitti pieces in sertain alleys.

I probably will be writing more about the city when I get to know it better. But there was really no time for turist stuff, from day 1 we where hitting them appartment ads. to make a long story really short we fell in love with this amazing place the first day, problem was that we could not move in before march. But no worries… we where able to book our selves into another appartment for only a month. At the time beeing we are staying at a friends house before we move into the temporary appartment.

We have been here for a week now. The trams are great, people are awesome…. but im not really digging the whole driving on the left side trend they have over here….

Welcome to Sydney

Would you imagine? Freakin Australia! Haha Im gonna be chillin here for a whole year!

First day in Sydney was a great one. We arrived early at sydney airport and took a shuttle bus to our hostel in the city. Our hostel ” The Pinkhouse” was an old mansion that they had painted pink for some reason. In my opinion this is the kind of laidback hostel where british backpackers who have no more money hang out the rest of their stay in Australia, so saying that…yes… there where alot of brits just hangin around all day.

After checking in…. it was time to hit the city. We ended up visiting the famous sydney aquarium, which was not really that amazing…Lets just say ive been to better ones in the states. Day 2 and 3 where spent just checking out the city, eating out and having a great time. Sydney is AMAZING.

Now… one thing i did find out was that the hostel I booked us into was in the famouse Kings Cross sub urb. While booking online from Norway I figured that this was a nice place since it was so close to the CBD. But during my ventures around this area i noticed that there was alot of adult book shops an strip joints as well as the common street prostitute. I googled the place Kings Cross Sydney and was surprised to find out that it was actually the ”Red light district of the city. Not only that, but the hostel we where living in used to be a brothel… nice…. hehe… well i wouldnt bring a blacklight here…

Anywayz… It was an awesome stay. Great people and great times! For you people just tuning in, I am here in Australia to study and finish my final bachelor year in 3D animations. I will be taking the course at Deakin University in Melbourne. After the 3 day vacation in Sydney, it was of to Melbourne…. It was only a 12 hour bus ride…
